The league has become a nightmare for Kushal Mendis, who refused to return to the PSL due to the Indo-Pakistan tension and joined Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Mendis had joined the squad as a replacement for English cricketer Jos Buttler in Gujarat Titans, but his poor performance in the first match led to the team being eliminated from the final.

In the match played against Mumbai Indians yesterday, Kushal Mendis dropped a catch from Rohit Sharma while fielding first, who played an innings of 81 runs. Later, he also missed the opportunity of an easy catch from Suryakumar Yadav, which changed the course of the match.
Instead of clearing catches while batting, Mendis was hit and wicket while trying to sweep Mitchell Santner’s ball and thus the Gujarat team suffered defeat.
It should be noted that in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Kusal Mendis was representing Quetta Gladiators.
