The Indian government and the cricket board are worried about a Pakistani attack after the cowardly move of their forces.
According to media reports, the match between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad may be shifted to Mumbai.
Reports say that India has already closed several airports due to fear of a retaliatory strike from Pakistan, due to which the Mumbai Indians team is stuck in Chandigarh.
A match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals is also scheduled in Dharamsala on Thursday. Both the teams are already based in the city. The board is awaiting government instructions in this regard.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Cricket Association has claimed that they have received a bomb threat to blow up the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad through an unknown email, which has been reported to the police.
To avoid a retaliatory strike from Pakistan, India’s extremist ruling party BJP has put the country on high security alert, while additional personnel have also been deployed for IPL matches.
