Sleep is very important for health, but still most people do not sleep for the right amount of time.

Several factors affect the quality and duration of sleep, but now one important reason has come to light that makes you suffer from sleep deprivation.

The most common habit of most people in the current era, namely using a smartphone at bedtime, causes poor sleep quality and they also experience sleep deprivation.

This was revealed in a medical study conducted in Norway.

A study by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health found that for every hour spent in front of a smartphone, the risk of insomnia increases by 59%, while sleep duration decreases by an average of 24 minutes.

This study included more than 45,000 people between the ages of 18 and 28 and analyzed the relationship between all kinds of activities related to screens and the effects on sleep.

The study tracked the activities of these individuals, such as using social media, watching TV and movies, gaming, listening to music or podcasts, or reading something on a screen.

The researchers said that past research has often suggested that using social media affects sleep, but our study shows that all forms of screen use affect sleep.

They said that lack of sleep increases the risk of diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack and stroke.

The results of this study were published in the journal Frontiers in Psychiatry.
